NGC Compression Solutions and the charity Inspire are reaching out to adopt families during the Christmas season, and there seemed to be no better fit than the Boon family in Drumheller.
On August 18, tragedy rocked the young family when 31-year-old Tyler Boon, who had been struggling with chronic health issues, passed away. This left his wife Shannel Boon alone to raise three young children, ages ranging from 2 to 11. Needless to say, it has been a tough few months for the family. The community has shown support and earlier this year supporters held a fundraiser, raffling off two sides of beef.
Jamie Worman knew full well of Shannel’s plight and when he learned about NGC Compression’s Adopt a Family program from local branch service manager Dale Telford he put the wheels in action. On Wednesday, December 21, President and CEO of NGC Compression Solutions Shane Guiltner and Alyssa Guiltner of Inspire, a nonprofit that NGC works with, presented a gift package to the young family.
Shannel is very appreciative of the donation. “When Jamie told me, it kind of blew me away. He’s a pillar to the community,” said Shannel.
Shane Guiltner says each year the company adopts families in communities in which it operates, including Calgary, Drumheller, Stettler and Fort St. John.
