What a difference a couple decades make. The Mail came across a photo and article published in the April 8, 1992 edition of The Drumheller Mail, when video lottery terminals were introduced to the valley. The photo depicts Angie Buchanan trying her hand at the new terminals installed at the Longbranch Saloon in Midland. The headline is “Try your luck at gambling.” Fast forward 24 years, and Angie is still going strong. While she has done well on a couple of occasions, with payouts in the area of $1,200-$1,500, she says it is just for entertainment.
