Royal Arch Masons of Alberta celebrate 90 years

On Thursday, December 5, 2013, Eheyeh #27 of the Royal Arch Masons of Alberta celebrated its 90th Anniversary at the Freemasons Hall in Drumheller.
Thirty-eight were in attendance at the formal gala event which included companions, wives and special guests.   The town was represented by the most senior Councillor, Sharel Shoff.
Another noted guest was the executive director of the Passion Play, Vance Neudorf, who entertained the audience with a rendition of his recently published booklet “The Art of Work, Ancient Advice for a Better Life”.  All in attendance enjoyed the performance and  many donated to his cause and procured his booklets.
“It was a great event with a lot of great people at it,” said Neudorf,
Other notables at the banquet were;  Grand First Principal of Royal Arch Masons of Alberta, Most Excellent Companion David Switzer and his wife Fran; Grand District Superintendent, Right Excellent Companion Jim Wilson; and other prominent officers of the RAM of Alberta.
Eheyeh Chapter #27 in conjunction with Strathmore Chapter #21, have had the privilege of using the Passion Play Site and its amenities for their rituals for the past fifteen years.  The location gives the sentiment of the time depicted in the annual biblical based stories of the ritual.
Eheyeh Chapter shares the Freemasons Hall with the pivotal Craft Lodges, Symbol #93 and Drumheller #146.  RAM Companions can advance to higher learning and fulfillment by  joining the Craft Lodge.  Eheyeh has had a very rich and rewarding past with many prominent figures from the Drumheller Community.
Royal Arch Masons have a strong presence in Alberta with a nonprofit organization the “Youth Endowment Fund” to assist students who may have difficulties attaining advance education.
If any gentlemen are interested in joining this great fraternity, they are encouraged to speak to a member of Masonry to get involved.
