There’s only three days to go until the valley rocks the day away during the 2012 East Coulee SpringFest on Saturday, May 12.
Organizers are busy with the final preparations and are excited to introduce a couple of changes to the SpringFest experience.
The first change is the Friday night Blast Off Party, which brings the SpringFest to new territory, that of being a two day festival. It is hoped that having a two day festival will encourage out of town attendees to stay overnight.
The Friday night show will start at 6 p.m. at the East Coulee Hotel and Tavern with a 2 hour live broadcast on CKUA with Andy Donnelly. The broadcast will be broadcast all over Alberta and will feature interviews with SpringFest organizers and live acoustic performances by Ruth Purvis Smith and Kirby Sewell.
The music kicks off at 8 p.m. with Norm Walker, followed by the Sadlier Brown Band, Ruth Purvis and her 581 band, and lastly Kirby Sewell.
Afterwards, fans may be treated to a live jam session.
SpingFest fans will also have the added bonus this year. The Valley Bus will be offering a shuttle service between Drumheller and East Coulee throughout the day, for a $5 fee per ride.
The shuttle service starts and 11:30 a.m. and leaves every hour thereafter from the Canadian Tire Parking lot.
The Town of Drumheller is gearing up for the big day and is working with ATCO to place banners throughout East Coulee.
SpringFest starts on Saturday, May 12, at noon. Advance tickets are available until Friday, May 11, at 6 p.m. at Riverside Value Drug Mart, Shoppers Drug Mart, East Coulee Hotel and Tavern, and online at www.ecsmuseum.ca.
