And what a parade it was…
The Annual Canada Day Parade was another great success with beautiful weather and enthusiastic participation.     Participants rallied behind this year’s Theme of Celebrating 100 Years of Coal Mining and outdid themselves in the floats they created.
In the antique category, the Homestead Coulee entry won for its 1-ton truck. In second was Jeff Demott and in third was Fred Orosz.
In the community floats, the Badlands Gals took the red ribbon. In second place was the CIBC float and in third was the Kidsing float.
In the sports category the Drumheller Dragons float shined in the top spot. The Drumheller Gymnastic Club earned second place and the Drumheller Aquaplex, while being the wettest of the bunch, earned the third place spot.
In the commercial float category, Evergreen Equipment took first place, the Royal Tyrrell Museum took second and the Drumheller Co-op took third.
In the equestrian category Sandra Nicklom took first place, Western Financial took second and Freson Bros. IGA took third.
In the youth category the KidsTown entry from the Church of the Nazarene took top spot.
