Who Are You? Phil Wolters

Age: 29.
Occupation: Gallery Experience Officer, Royal Tyrrell Museum.  
What do you like most about your job? I get to hang out with dinosaurs all day.
What would be your dream job? Being paid well  to write best-selling novels, win awards, and have my books on school curriculums.
How long have you been in Drumheller? A year and a half plus two summers.
Where are you from originally? Belleville, Ontario.
What do you like most about Drumheller? The wonderful people and Vintage Pub.
Any travel destinations on your bucket list?  Drive from Dawson City to Patagonia along the Pacific Coast.
When and where would you travel to in time?  The Late Cretaceous to ride a Triceratops.
Who would you like to hang out with for a day? The coolest man on Earth; Matt Bors.
Any hobbies? Writing. In November, I’m planning on writing a 1,000 word or less short-story each day.
What do you like singing most? I’m the grandmaster king of singing “The United States of Whatever,” complete with cool dance moves.
Favourite books: The Lord of the Rings and Breakfast of Champions changed my life in high school.
What future technology would you want now? Teleporter!
Have you ever done the “Thriller” dance? Only very poorly.
What is the Halloween candy you can’t get enough of? The little boxes of Smarties. You just pour them in to your mouth.
Any words of wisdom? Everything will probably be okay.


Who Are You? Cory Miles

Age: 39  
Occupation: Bakery manager, Drumheller Co-op.  
What do you like most about your job? Decorating cakes. I get to do some cool designs.
How long have you lived in Drumheller? 7 years.
Where are you from? Edmonton.
What do you like most about Drumheller? The people. They’re always genuine and friendly.
Any travel destinations on your bucket list? Scotland, because of my family heritage.
When and where would you travel in time? Back to the 80’s for the music, styles, and basically everything.
What three things would you take to a deserted island? An old school NES, Coca Cola, and quad.
Any hobbies? Coaching football, skiing, and water-skiing.
Do you collect anything? Star Wars toys.
What is one thing you could eat for the rest of your life? Pizza.
Favourite movies/TV shows: The Hangover and Saturday college football.
What would be your theme song? “Hangin’ Tough” by New Kids on the Block.
Favourite games: Batman Arkham Asylum and Super Mario Bros. 3.
What is your most memorable childhood toy? G.I. Joes or Star Wars action figures.
Favourite sports: I’m a big football and hockey fan.
What would be your dream vehicle? A Ferrari Testarossa, Miami Vice-style.
What superpower would you want? To spin into a ball like Sonic the Hedgehog.
Any words of wisdom? Eat cake, be happy.

Who Are You? Jamie Mahan

Occupation: Teacher, St. Luke’s Outreach.  
What do you like most about your job? I always like motivating students so they see beyond what they are now to what they can become.  
Where are you from originally? Louisbourg on Cape Breton.
How long have you been in Drumheller? Since late July. I drove to Alberta in January to get a teaching job.
What do you like most about Drumheller? The small town atmosphere and cool attractions.
Any travel destinations on your bucket list? Holland, Fiji, Scotland, and back to Italy. I have a bit of a wanderlust.
What’s the coolest place you’ve been to? I went to Italy with my high school. It’s such a cool place historically and culturally.
When and where would you travel to in time? To see Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, and the rest. Seeing them at a festival would be so inspiring.
Any hobbies? Guitar, reading, art, staying fit, and travelling.
What do you play on guitar? Rock, blues, classical, and a whole bunch of other styles.
Favourite bands: Led Zeppelin, Guns n’  Roses, Aerosmith, Eric Clapton, and U2 are some. First thing I learned was “Stairway to Heaven,” then I was on a huge Hendrix kick for awhile after that.
What would be your theme song? “Danger Zone,” from Top Gun. It always pumps me up.
Any words of wisdom? It’s an Arnold Schwarzenegger quote, “you can’t climb the ladder of success with your hands in your pockets.”
