Course construction is progressing, registration is on track, and everything seems to be well on its way for Drumheller’s September 6 & 7 Tough Mudder.
To watch the Tough Mudder event, spectator registration is available online for $20 (under 10 - free) until Thursday, September 4, at midnight.
If you miss the online registration deadline, spectator tickets are sold for $40 per person at the Stampede Grounds. Anyone attending who is age 16 and over will be required to produce valid I.D. and sign a waiver.
Tough Mudder requests spectators pre-register, but it isn’t required to view the event.
Spectators can pre-register at toughmudder.com (spectator tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable), click “Events” at the top of the page, then click on “Find An Event”. There’s a box for September 6 & 7, 2014 Alberta. Once there, select “Register>>” (in orange) that takes you to the page with an option to Register Saturday or Register Sunday. Click on the day you’d like to attend, then select “Participate as an individual”. A registration is required for each spectator.
Select the spectator and parking options from the screen.
There’s still time to participate, too - register on this same page by choosing “Final Entry Plus - Participant” or “Final Entry - Participant”. - then click on the “Register” button, and fill in the form provided.
The paid parking will be provided in the field to the left off the penitentiary road, where spectators can park and walk to the Stampede Grounds.
Tough Mudder registration figures have over seven and-a-half thousand people set to take part in the two day event.
Parents can take their kids aged five to twelve on the “Mini Mudder” course that will be set up in the festival area on the Stampede Grounds. This Mini-Mudder has Tough Mudder obstacles built to scale for the kids to tackle, and there could be as many as ten obstacles on this mini-course.
Businesses and organizations have set-up a number of events to take place in Drumheller from September 5 to 7, including redneck games, pre-carb load ups, and a golf challenge.
A list of events can be found by visiting the Travel Drumheller website and clicking on “Mudder Events”. Click on “Special Offers” next to that to see a list of deals from the area’s businesses.
The Festival Society requests people avoid the Stampede Grounds and area until the official start of Alberta’s Tough Mudder 2014. Organizers in Drumheller have been working hard, and Tough Mudder construction manager Dave Policelli said there are several people in town who have put in as much, or more, time on the event as a Tough Mudder employee.
