Rosebud magician Lothar Malmberg will continue the well-received Echoes of the Past Guided Ghost Walk during the Mining Centennial which will be available three times a week from now until the end of October.
The ghostly walk led by Lothar shares tales of the historic and dark past of downtown Drumheller and a seance in the haunted Navy League building.“It went very well, people learned many things they didn’t know and some even had information I didn’t know,” said Lothar.
The Navy League building hosts “inactive spirits” of those who passed from the Spanish Influenza at the Central School building across the street. He believes the bodies that were buried under the parking lot are active in the area. Lothar said the spirits are quiet in the Navy League building, whereas the school has spirits manifesting themselves through sounds and moving objects. The Navy League ghosts are there, but do not bother anyone, he believes.
“Doesn’t matter what side of the fence you sit on, it makes for an interesting night,” said Lothar.
Walks begin at 7:45 p.m. in front of the Napier Theatre, with the spirit theatre and walks only on Fridays and Saturdays. Thursdays are just the ghost walk.
