Why not be a tourist in your own town?

Before the streets of Drumheller and area are brimming with visitors to enjoy all the valley has to offer, Be a Tourist in Your Own Town is a great chance to rediscover the things that make Drumheller special.

From May 15-21, why not Be a Tourist in Your Own Town? When was the last time you checked out a variety of local museums? Packed up a picnic and hiked through the hills? How about taking the family for dinner at a wide variety of restaurants, new or established?
“Our local residents are wonderful ambassadors for the valley and they do a great job hosting over 400,000 visitors every year. Tourism plays a huge impact on our economy,” said Mayor Terry Yemen. “This year we are implementing our Tourism Master Plan and we will see some huge benefits as a result of it. We look forward to being tourists in our own town.”
This is the fifth year in a row Drumheller has marked Be a Tourist in Your Own Town. The promotion creates local awareness for the products, services and attractions in Drumheller.
As the valley kicks off the 2011 tourist season, residents are encouraged to see and experience what our valley has to offer.
