A Valley tradition of smoke, twisted metal and bone-jarring collisions returns this summer at the 27th Annual Drumheller Demolition Derby. The derby, being held August 21 and 22, is bolstering strong numbers, which will translate into a bigger and longer show.
“We have a lot of trucks this year and we are also holding an event specifically for the ladies,” says Drumheller Stampede and Agricultural Society President Larry Duxbury.
Drivers will be smashing around a bigger pit this year as well.
The age old 8-cylinder class has strong interest, as well as the Joey Siwy 4-cylinder classic, named in memory of a longtime volunteer with the society.
The first place driver at the event will receive $5,000.
For all you car crashin’ and smashin’ fans - this is one show you will not want to miss.
The derby kicks off at noon on both days.
