Great entertainment Friday evening at Relay For Life

relay2008.jpg
This is one lucky Friday the 13th for music lovers as there is an incredible line-up of acts scheduled for Relay for Life.
If you find yourself on June 13 wondering where everyone is, head to the Drumheller Composite High School (DCHS) to catch all the action at the second annual Relay for Life in Drumheller.
To find DCHS travel east on Highway 10. The high school is across the highway from Walmart.
The Relay For Life is Drumheller’s premier cancer fundraiser and this year has attracted a number of top caliber acts to the event.
Jason Blanke, voice of the Drumheller Dragons will be emceeing the event, and will be joined by disc jockey Paul Barry. Local singer Rhonda Landon will open the event with the singing of the National Anthem.
After that one of the most powerful events of the evening is the Survivors’ Lap, and it will be led by Piper Michael Begg.
Starland Sadie takes the stage at 8 p.m., a trio of Carol Gogol, Lorrie Kashuba and Paul Rosgen who recently performed at the East Coulee Spring Festival.
They are followed by Shae Lyn Eremko at 9 p.m. The young singer has been winning all kinds of accolades, and took home a number of trophies at the Drumheller Music Festival for her vocals.
Next to the main stage is the Badland Boars. This band features Royal Sproule and Jason Bertsch, and plays everything from contemporary to country and folk.
Following the Boars, the Luminary Ceremony will take place and participants will observe a minute of silence.
After that Kelsey and Kirby Travis will be on stage.
What is becoming a tradition at the Relay For Life is a good ol’ head shave. A number of participants are going under the razor to show solidarity with those battling cancer and to raise money for the cause.
The stage cranks right back up as Band-o-Coots play from 11:30 to 1 a.m. The rhythm and blues act is celebrating six years of playing in the valley.
After that Live in Stereo takes the stage at 2 a.m., featuring the vocals of Angela Price. They will be the last performance of the evening.
