Dragons take one point in overtime loss to Bonnyville

The Drumheller Dragons went home with one point following their game against the Bonnyville Pontiacs Saturday night.
The Dragons' Dakota Zaharichuk opened scoring early in the first giving the Dragons a 1-0 lead until early in the second when the Pontiacs tied the game. Rory Davidson gave the home team the lead once again, just over halfway through the second. The Pontiacs scored a second goal on the power play late in the second, but the Dragons' Jacob Schofield scored a third to give the home team the lead once more. Early in the third period the Dragons took a five minute penalty and although they killed the time, the Pontiacs scored just after to tie the game forcing an overtime period. One minute and twenty-six seconds into the overtime period, Bonnyville scored winning the game.
The Dragons will now travel to Camrose Tuesday afternoon to face the Kodiaks at 4 p.m.

Dragons add another win to record

The re-match between the Drumheller Dragons and the Sherwood Park Crusaders was a positive result for the Dragons, who took the win Friday evening at Memorial Arena.
Captain Ryan Suchorab started the scoring, on the power play, in the first period giving the Dragons a 1-0 lead before Sherwood Park scored two back-to-back goals. Hunter Mills scored the home team's second power play goal early in the second period tying the game at two. Sherwood Park and Drumheller each scored two more goals, both on the power play, before the end of the second bringing the score to 3-3. At 18:11 of the third period Rory Davidson scored a breakaway shorthanded goal to give the Dragons the win.
The Dragons will now hope to add another win to their 17-6-3 record hosting the Bonnyville Pontiacs Saturday night. Puck drops at Memorial Arena at 7:30 p.m.

Dragons win 8-6 over Mustangs

The Drumheller Dragons travelled to Calgary Tuesday night and went home with a 8-6 win over the Mustangs. Hunter Mills scored a hat trick in the game. Dakota Zaharichuk and Jacob Schofield each scored two goals, Schofield's second as an empty net at 19:42 of the third period. Wyatt Noskey also scored for the Dragons.
The Dragons now return home for a re-match against the Sherwood Park Crusaders on Friday. Puck drop is 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Arena.
