The Drumheller Dragons moved Stefan Wood to the Fort McMurray Oil Barons on the January 10th trade deadline for future considerations.
“With the injury to Stefan, it has been close to 3 months since he last played, he told me he would like to be traded closer to home and that I should try to get something for him now,” said Dragons head coach and GM, Brian Curran. “Not knowing whether he will be back at all this season, we needed to add a player to our lineup.”
The Drumheller Dragons organization wishes Stefan all the best and hopes he will get the chance to play again this season.
Also on the trade deadline, the Dragons acquired 20-year-old forward Jordan Evans from the Kindersley Klippers of the SJHL.
“I felt that we had to add some depth to our forward group and from what I know, Jordan will fit well with our club,” said Curran. “He is a hard working player with offensive upside and is well liked by all his former clubs and coaches. And it was crucial for our team that we brought the right player into our room.”
A native of Calgary, AB, Evans has 8 goals and 7 assists in 31 games so far this season with the Klippers.
