The Drumheller Dragons are ramping up for their 10th anniversary season, and have invited some stars to celebrate.
The Dragons are hosting an Evening of the Stars, and have invited NHL star Michael Cammalleri, former NHLer and member of the Calgary Flames management team Craig Conroy and broadcaster Jim Ralph.
Motivational speaker and comic Jimmy Souza will be emceeing the night, which will, includes dinner and live and silent auctions that feature exciting prizes such as experiential trips. The evening also includes a chance to hear the honoured guests speak about their careers in hockey.
Cammalleri has been in the league since 2002. He started with the Los Angeles Kings and wore the flaming “C” in 2008-2009 before becoming a Montréal Canadian. This year he is back with the Calgary Flames.
Conroy also wore a flames jersey during his career. His career spanned 17 years and he played in Los Angeles, St. Louis and Montréal. He is remembered by most fans however by the role he played in the Flame’s 2004 playoff run. Today he is special assistant to the general manager of the Calgary Flames.
Also joining the former Flames is Jim Ralph. He played seven years a minor league goalie before finding his stride as a broadcaster. Today he is a color commentator for the Toronto Maple Leafs radio broadcasts. He is also a popular speaker.
