Yavis Atom Raptors win gold

 yavisatoms.jpg

The Yavis Atom Raptors were undefeated last weekend and brought home a gold medal from a tournament in Redcliff.

The team braved sketchy highways to play in the tournament over the weekend. They had their hands full in their first game, taking on the home team.
A flurry of goals defined this match-up as the Raptors took a 9-2 victory on Friday against Redcliff.
On Saturday morning pool play continued, and they handed Fort McLeod a 10-5 drubbing. This put them on to play a team from Kindersley, and the Raptors handled them easily with a 5-1 victory.
With this win, they were the in first place in their pool and went on to the championship match versus Swift Current.
This was a much closer game than any of their previous matches, but the Raptors held on for 5-4 victory.
The team is having a strong season, but it only gets busier from hereon. While they continue to play in league games, they are already into provincial play downs.
