Sports, Recreation and Arts Expo looks for club registrations

After the success of September’s event, Drumheller will see another Sports,  Recreation and Arts Expo on March 10, and organizers are looking for the valley’s clubs and organizations to sign up.

“We’re opening up to everybody,” says organizer Cathy Smoliak, adding that not only sports organizations, but arts like choir are being asked to sign up.
It will be very much the same as the fall event, with the exception of the arts now being asked to join. There’s over 40 exhibition spaces open.
“It’s really the kick off for all spring registration.”
The event is being organized by the Town of Drumheller along with the Drumheller Gymnastics Club.
Smoliak says feedback from September’s expo was immensely positive, and adds clubs were offered from kids to adults ages.
“The feedback was very positive from everyone who participated and attended this expo. It gave opportunities for community organizations to engage with the public, obtain ideas for new programs and a lot of clubs achieved higher volunteer and participant enrollment in their organizations.”
One of the biggest draws during the last expo was the live demonstrations put on by clubs, such as gymnastics and kick boxing.
Those wishing to register a booth can contact Judy Quintin-Arvidson at the town’s Community Services, 403-823-1324.
