Minor Hockey gears up for season

Over the last few weeks, Minor League players have been diligently conditioning in preparation for the upcoming hockey season.
    This year the league will host ten teams, two at each level. Rosters which have not yet been finalized will be released by October 23.
    The Drumheller Minor League teams, for the 2009/2010 season, are as follows:
Novice – The McDonalds Raptors (Tier 2) and the Minor Hockey Raptors (Tier 6).
Atom – The Yavis Raptors (Tier 2) and the Encana Raptor (Tier 5).
Peewee – The Greene Construction Raptors (Tier 2) and the Hi-Way 9 Raptors (Tier 5).
Bantam – The CNRL Raptors (Tier 2) and the Boston Pizza Raptors (Tier 5).
Midget – The Sports Room Raptors (Tier 2) and the Bertram Drilling Raptors (Tier 5).
    The teams will begin the tiering round on October 23, 2009 which continues until November 15. The teams are then realigned and the regular hockey season begins on November 27, and runs until February 15, 2010. The teams that excel will begin playoffs on February 19.
