AJHL offers pay-per-view webcast of 2009-2010 schedule

Craig Cripps, president of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL), and Interactive Netcasting Systems Inc. (INSINC) announced plans to broadcast the 2009-2010 AJHL Regular Season and 2010 AJHL Playoffs via the internet live on a pay-per-view (PPV) broadband basis. Pay-per-view webcasts started with a select schedule of games on AJHL Opening Weekend, September 11 – 13, and will eventually result in all AJHL games being broadcast throughout the remainder of the regular season and playoffs.
Throughout the month of September 2009, a daily pay-per-view schedule will be posted at www.ajhl.ca until such time that all AJHL games are available online.
AJHL regular season games for all sixteen teams will be available on a PPV basis for $6.95 per game or fans can purchase more games through a variety of packages. Viewers with high speed internet connections will experience near television quality pictures.
“We are delighted to be in a position through our partnership with INSINC, to broadcast AJHL games this season,” commented AJHL president Craig Cripps. “For the first time in AJHL history, our loyal fans, family members, media and scouts will be able to watch our games live through this new internet service.”
INSINC, a leading provider of sports webcasting services, is excited to be partnering with the AJHL. “We know that junior hockey has a very strong fan base in Alberta,” states INSINC president and CEO, Hugh Dobbie. “This service will deliver quality hockey action to fans, scouts, players and coaches who want to make sure they catch every game – to either view a missed a game or watch their home team live on the road.”
The majority of the broadcasts will be provided using a special “scout feed” that will combine a quality camera feed with the live audio from the existing team broadcast. The webcast program also provides the opportunity to use this content for scouting purposes and as a development tool for players, coaches and officials.
Webcasts for all teams will be made available from the AJHL website located at www.ajhl.ca and at www.ajhl.insinc.com.
