Dragons drop two over weekend

Dragons Hockey copy
It was a tough weekend for the Dragons with two highly competitive games under their belt.
The Dragons hosted the Whitecourt Wolverines on Saturday, October 19 in front of 811 fans.
After a scoreless first period, Aiden Connell put the Dragons on the scoreboard 7:14 into the second period. The Dragons held the lead until the three-minute mark of the third period when the Wolverines tied it up. Just 50 seconds later Trip Jensen scored his first of the season to put the Dragons back up 2-1.
A late-game hooking penalty and an unsportsmanlike conduct call gave Whitecourt the advantage. They put away two powerplay goals to tie and then win, 3-2.
On Sunday afternoon, October 20 the Dragons headed down the highway to take on the Olds Grizzlys. So far this season they have met twice and split these games.
It was an uneventful game. Olds scored just 1:43 into the game and held on to that lead until there were just 57 seconds left, and they struck again on the empty net.
The Dagons have a busy weekend to prepare for. They are heading to Grand Prairie on Friday and Saturday, October 25 and 26 to play a back-to-back match versus the Grande Prairie Storm, and then on Sunday, they are in Whitecourt to play the Wolverines. The Dragons aren’t in the Dragon’s Den until November 1 when they play the Drayton Valley Thunder.
