Saints racking up wins

The St. Anthony’s Saints Junior B boys basketball team is having a great season learning the game and having fun. They are also racking up wins.
The Saints were in action last week and playing strong. On Monday they took on Three Hills and won 59-17. On Wednesday they hosted Linden and took a 91-10 win.
Coach Gavin Makse said the program is developing. Last season they had 25 kids come out for tryouts showing great interest. With players moving up to Grade 9, they still had a roster of 15.
“We are working on the fundamentals. Preaching good defence and hammering the fundamentals of basketball,” said Makse. ‘We are taking it possession by possession, if you lose it on offence get back on defence,” said Makse.
This weekend they are hosting a home tournament, with Linden, Three Hills and PCA and are hoping to get one more game in by the end of February.
With these wins they have a 12-2 record, only losing to Trinity Christian out of Strathmore and Deer Meadows earlier in the season.
