Junior Bonspiel ends in tie

Three hills jr curling

Drumheller hosted a Junior Curling Bonspiel January 28.
The athletes were ages eight to 17 and there were 12 teams in attendance. Teams from Drumheller, Delia, Three Hills, Disbury, Crossfield, Sundre and Calgary all competed for the top place. First place ended up being shared by one of the Three Hills teams and Calgary through a two way tie.
Third place went to the Delia team that consisted of Kenzie Olmstead, Jensen Battle, Presley Battle, and Sonya Nielsen. Disbury took fourth place and fifth place was tied between the Prairie team and the younger Delia team.
Heather Little, tournament organizer, said, “The Drumheller team suffered three losses but had some close games. They gained some valuable experience.”
Little said, “The tournament went well. We doubled the number of teams that we had from last year and everyone had fun.”
