The Drumheller Bantam Titans football team are back on the field for a new season.
Head coach Paul Redmond says the team is looking good and they are looking forward to this year’s campaign. Even though over 25 signed up, the team ended up with 19 players.
“It’s really too bad because it would have been nice to have more players,” said Redmond.
Coming from the Pee-Wee Drumheller Terrapins, most of the players have a few years of experience under their belt.
“This is good because they are already at square three instead of me having to start at square one with them,” said Redmond.
He adds they have leadership on the field as quarterback Ethan Jones is already in his fifth year.
Redmond added he is looking forward to working with all the players this year and feels their tailback is really strong.
“He is even bigger than me!” Redmond laughed, “I am not a small guy either!”
The Bantam Titan’s first game is a home game this season and is September 17 against Olds at 1:30 p.m. Before that, the Peewee Terrapins are on the field at 11 a.m. versus the RV Rage.
