Drumheller’s StarSkate Samantha Kendell competed in the Alberta zones in Calgary and qualified for the Alberta Winter Games .
The games will be held in Medicine Hat on February 15 and 16th where she will perform her free skate routine. The three easiest parts of her routine are the Rockers turning skill, the Flying Camel spin and the Single Axle jump. She is practising her Double Saw jump for the games.
Kendell is also working on her junior Bronze free skate and Senior Silver Skating skills and dances. Kendell practices over three hours each week at the Drumheller arena and her mother Michelle drives her twice a week to practice at The Calgary Crowchild Twin arena. Kendell is 14 years old and has been skating since she was two years old and currently attends grade nine at DVSS.
