Dino Half Marathon numbers running strong

Racers head to the finish line in last year's Community Futures Dinosaur Valley Half Marathon.

In just under two weeks, numbers have climbed another 100 for the fifth annual Community Futures Dinosaur Valley Half Marathon.
Registrations for the September 14 races are now at 334 people.
The numbers break down as 18 people in the full 42k marathon, 153 people registered for the 21k half marathon, 78 people for the Encana 10k run, and 85 people registered for the 5k family fun walk.
Colin Kloot, event organizer, said the 5k family walk and run registration usually increases closer to the event.
Organizers note there were 507 people that took part in all of the Dino Half Marathons events.
Over the first four years of the event, it has raised $53,000 for the Badlands Community Facility.
