Two of the Drumheller Valley Secondary School (DVSS) senior girls Dynos were recognized for their court prowess last week.
Kendra Schmidt and Mikayla Britton, who are both in Grade 12 and graduating this spring, were selected for the 2013 South Central Zone eastern all-star team.
Head coach Jennifer Raugust was tasked with choosing which Dynos would be nominated for the team.
“They both mentioned their interest in playing college ball and I believe they have the talent to play. They are die-hard about basketball and it is great they had one last game this season,” said Raugust.
Schmidt and Britton went to the game on Tuesday, March 19. In the end, the eastern all-star team, on which the two were playing, lost by a mere three points. However, and most importantly, the two had fun.
“It feels pretty awesome to have been chosen,” said Schmidt.
