Red Eye tourney attracts 14 teams

This weekend some slo-pitch troopers will be under the bright lights at the Annual Red Eye Memorial Tournament.

The tournament in benefit of the Morgan Jayne Project and the Chris Bolin Memorial Fund is heading into its’ fourth year.

Organizers have moved the tournament up and the action starts this Friday at 7 p.m. and goes until Sunday afternoon.

This year the tournament has attracted 14 teams to the Morrin Bridge recreational area. To find this, simply head north on Highway 56 to the Morrin Corner and head west on Highway 27 for about 10 kilometres. This is the first time they have used this venue and it has allowed organizers to expand.

Organizers encourage everyone, even if they are not playing to come out and enjoy the weekend. There is camping on site and a concession running all weekend. Best of all the fun is for a good cause.

Fred Makowecki of the Morgan Jayne Project  says there is  always room for those who want to contribute to these causes to volunteer. For more information, contact Makowecki at 403-820-2386.
