Raging into provincials

Currently playing in league playoffs, the Drumheller Rage girls softball team is more than ready for provincials.

The team played their first playoff game on Monday, June 25. Unfortunately they lost a heartbreaker in extra innings, but they came back with an 11-4 win on Wednesday, June 27. The team will play again on Wednesday, July 4 for the semi-finals.

Closely following semi-finals is Provincials, which  begin on Friday, July 6. Opening ceremonies start at 6:30 p.m at the Newcastle Diamonds.

“I think we are ready for the big event,” said Shari Fournier, head coach of the Drumheller Rage.

The Rage play Friday at 10 a.m and 2 p.m, and Saturday at 9 a.m and 3 p.m. It will be a round robin format for the tournament.

“I hope [many] can make it out for the event,” said Fournier.
