Strong showing at Zones for Junior High Dynos

The Junior High Dynos travelled to Strathcona Tweedsmuir by Okotoks this past weekend to participate in the zone playoffs.
Being ranked seventh, the team was put up against the number two team from West Island College.

Coach Al Molzan said the Dynos were outmatched physically, but put up a good battle right to the end, losing 62 to 34. High scorers were Sam Brown with 11, Zach Flater and Matt Thomas each with 7.
This put the Dynos in the consolation side, matching us up against the host team, which was ranked, 6th.  The Drumheller team led for the whole game. Although Strathcona Tweedsmuir made a run at the end, the Dynos were able to hang on for a 62 to 60 win. High scorers were Sam Brown with 30, Zach Flater with 16, and Travis Molzan with 6.
This qualified the Dynos for the consolation final, which pitted us against the fifth ranked team from Rundle College.  The Dynos were in trouble early, but even though they lost one of their starters, Matt Thomas, to a sprained ankle, were able to come back from a sixteen-point deficit to eventually lose by four, 70 to 66.
High scorers were Sam Brown with 18, Jeordie Andrew and Adam Shymanski each with 12.
The Dynos ended up finishing the zone tournament in 6th place, bettering their ranking by one.
On Tuesday night the Dynos hosted the league final versus Prairie Christian Academy. Results not available at press time.
