The DVSS boys Dynos pulled no punches during their game against Acme’s Junior Varsity team on Wednesday, December 21. The score was a lopsided 83-30 in favour of the Dynos.
The Dynos were originally slated to face Carbon. However, Carbon dropped out of the league before the season started.
“We wanted to have a game before Christmas and Acme’s JV team was looking for games,” said Jeff Messom, coach of the Dynos. “It gives us a chance to play a lot of guys who would not normally get a left of court time, and it allows us to work on some things too.”
Alex Cliche and Jordan Britton scored the most points for the Dynos, getting 21 and 20 respectively.
The girls Dynos were scheduled to be in action earlier the same evening, but a last minute cancellation by the opposition forced the girls to spend that time practicing.
Both teams are now taking a break for the holidays. The girls will return to the court on January 6 and 7 in Brooks for a tournament.
“It’s one of the best tournaments to go to, because a lot of the best teams will be there,” said coach Ryan Hatch.
The Dynos will resume league play on January 16 in Trochu. Their next home game will not be until February 1.
