Senior Titans fall to Olds

While the defence looked strong, the Senior Titans were not able to put points on the board as Olds paid them a visit for their home opener.

The two teams took to the field at 2 p.m. last Saturday. The Titans were down by a touchdown and were in reach at half, but Olds was able to pull out a 20-0 victory.
“There were some good things there,” said coach Ken Fournier, despite the loss. “The defence played really well, we just couldn’t move the ball offensively.”
The defence was able to stop the Olds squad throughout the game. In fact, the defence was only scored on once. The other two Olds touchdowns came from special teams.
“I thought both teams played equally, I think they just capitalized on the mistakes we made,” said Fournier.
“The team was hampered as the two starting running backs are out with injuries.
“Our numbers are down, I have quite a few guys bruised up and battered right now. We wanted to get them healthy and figured we’d give them the week off,” said Fournier.
Following Saturday’s game, the Titans are ranked eighth in the province the Tier IV level. This weekend they play Strathmore.
“Strathmore will be another good game, but we will have our guys healthy and ready to go,” said Fournier.
The Titans play at 2 p.m. this coming Saturday.
