Lacrosse Raptors beat out in third playoff round
“We were tired. It happens when the kids are in the school all day, and we only have eight runners and one goalie. We just didn’t have the spunk that we usually do when we go out there.”
The Raptors were the only team left in the Central Alberta Lacrosse League finals from the Badlands League.
Dumaine said the team improved greatly over the season, dealing with a short roster and multiple games a weekend.
“We improved with stamina, overall positioning, and the effort. The kids just wanted to play hard.”
“There’s the positioning in lacrosse, it was the greatest improvement the second half of the year that made a big difference.”
By the sounds of it Dumaine expects the team to come back to the sport next year as lacrosse in Drumheller continues to try and grow its playerbase.
“Thanks to all the parents who helped the season through, Jolene Crone for being the team manager, and Gerry Kolm,” said Dumaine.
