Condolences to the family of Beverley Joyce Johnson

JOHNSON
Beverley Joyce

May 25, 1944 - April 16, 2024

Kind, caring, intelligent, a natural mentor and a much loved friend to many. From growing up on a lowly pioneer farm with no electricity in south-eastern Alberta, to completing a MSc degree, to pursuing a professorship at a prestigious international management college in Australia, to managing the training of worthy government management candidates to achieve their best here in Victoria, Beverley was always able to understand the challenges and how to stimulate her students and clients to develop their skills and maximize their opportunities. And, she also knew how to have fun and challenge herself - book club, hiking with a group, boating. She discovered lawn bowling, qualified as a Coach, honed her skills and in the mid-2000’s achieved the North American Women’s Singles Championship!
As many folks experience, her first marriage did not last. Then, in 1994 she met Don Ruggles who had just moved to Victoria, and they had a fulfilling loving togetherness ever since.
After all of these wonderful life experiences nature got in the way and Bev has had to concede to lung cancer. We have heart-felt regards for the team at the Royal Jubilee Hospital who led the MAID process for her peaceful farewell.
Bev leaves her loving husband Don, sisters Anita Staples in Victoria and Evelyn Bachynski (Bill) in Calgary, and their families, as well as many nephews and nieces. Her memory will live on in all of our hearts.
