Condolences to the family of John George Savrtka

July 22, 1938 - December 31, 2019

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of John George Savrtka on December 31st, 2019. He was born July 22nd 1938 in Drumheller. John graduated from the four year nursing and psych program in 1966, training in Ponoka and subsequently worked 32 years for the federal penitentiary system in Drumheller, Abbotsford and finally settling in Victoria in 1974.
John is predeceased by his Parents Sofa and Johan Savrtka, and his brother George. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kathy, three children; Judy, Doug and David, and two grandchildren; Titus (Tara) and Montana along with his sister Sophia, brother Joseph (Donna), sister in law Vivian and numerous extended family members.
John will be remembered not only for his hard work and dedication but also for his loving and caring nature. He was an avid fan of Hockey and held season tickets to the Royals for as long as his health would allow. He enjoyed time with “his Petey”. John will be fondly remembered by all who knew him and missed by family and friends.

Rose Marie Harrison (Princess) of Drumheller, AB passed away peacefully after a lengthy battle with cancer on December 27, 2019.
She was born on March 18, 1972 to Bill Harrison and Lillian Demontigny.
Rosie was raised in Midland by the loving family of Jim and Carol Peters, and eventually had 2 sons; Kyle and T.J. Jones.
She spent most of her life in the food service industry and made many dear friends between Fred and Barney’s, The Falcon and the Diana Restaurant. Rosie leaves to mourn her best friend and partner Steve Nelson, her boys Kyle and T.J., brother Jason, sisters Joanne and Betty and many relatives.
She will be missed by all.
There is an extra angel out there ♥.

A service for Rose will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Midland Hall.

Linda Marian Hewson Roberson passed away on December 27, 2019.
She was born in Drumheller, Alberta, Canada on February 26, 1945 to Marshall and Viola Hewson.
Linda graduated from the Holy Cross School of Nursing in Calgary, Alberta in 1967. On May 18, 1968, she married her husband, Mike Roberson in the United Church in Delia, Alberta.
She is survived by her husband, Mike Roberson of Katy, TX; her son, Jeff Roberson of Tucson, AZ; her daughter,
Michelle Lampley (Wayne) of The Hague, Netherlands; along with four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Harry (Lynda); her sisters, Nora, Willa (Don) and Julie (Terry) in Alberta, Canada; along with her many nieces and nephews.
No funeral is planned at this time. In accordance with Linda’s wishes, her body will be cremated and her ashes scattered at sea. Linda loved the ocean and ocean cruising. A memorial service will be held in the spring of 2020 at the Schmidt Funeral Home Grand Parkway, in Katy, Texas.
