It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our Mother. She passed away peacefully with family by her side.
She leaves to mourn, her children:
Jannette Coninx; Grandchildren: Michael, Christina; Great-grandchildren: Tyler, McKennah, Gage and Charlotte.
Terry Armstrong (Cheryl); Grandchildren: John, Robert, Amanda, Lindsey and Meagan; Great-grandchildren:
Payton, Page, Mia, Damion, Chanelle, Sophie, Charlotte, Hunter and Koehn.
Amber Armstrong; Grandchildren: Shawna, Natasha; Great-grandchildren: Jadeon, Connor, Nevaeh, Tyle and Vaydah.
Bradley Armstrong (Eva-Marie); Grandchildren: Joshua, Jennifer; Great-grandchildren: Valentina and Tommaso.
Dale Armstrong; Grandchildren: Katherine, Cassandra; Great-grandchildren: Levi and Victoria.
Norman Lennstrom (Emily); Grandchildren: Mickeal, Cody, Cory; Great-grandchildren: Tierra, McKayla and Zeina.
Susan was born and raised in Midlandvale, AB and other than a few years in Calgary and Thunder Bay, Ontario, she spent her life in the valley.
In her younger years, you would often find her skating on the river in her new figure skates. She also enjoyed her job at the Starlight Cafe waiting on the many patrons of Drumheller and you could see her children sitting at the counter having french fries. She loved to travel and often spent time in Mexico with her sisters Jean and Stella.
As a member of the Legion you would find her on a Friday night there dancing and having a beer with her many friends.
Her cooking and baking were second to none. Christmas baking would start in September to make sure there was enough for everyone.
She always spoke of her boys and their ‘damn cars’. In her late years she could be seen cruising the strip or heading out to Wayne for a burger and a beer with them in their classic cars.
Spending time with her family was always a great joy to her.
Susan was the last living member of her family. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Katie Byrtus; her brothers Joey and John as well as her sisters Jean and Stella; husbands Robert Armstrong, Norman Lennstrom as well as long time companion Jack Darroch.

Elizabeth “Debi” Kennedy (née Pitcher), age 69 of Drumheller, Alberta, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, October 26, 2020 after a short battle with cancer.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Rudy Kennedy, and cherished daughter Deniece Kennedy (Ben Whitfield) and grand dog Miikka of Pacific Palisades, CA. Debi was predeceased by her brother Mark and her parents Reginald and Claire.
She will be greatly missed by all of her siblings, Linda Lange (Fred) of Bayfield, ON, Wayne Pitcher (Yvonne) of Palmetto, LA, Dwight Pitcher (Cathy) of Winnipeg, MB, Robert Pitcher (Carleen) of West Lake, ON, Kim Schofield (Tom) of Airdie, AB, Dale Pitcher (Linda) of St. Thomas, ON, Terry Pitcher (Ryan Schreyer), of Winnipeg, MB, and sister-in-law Sue Pitcher of Brights Grove, ON. Debi leaves behind many nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews, and recently, her first great great nephew.
Debi was a long time Scotiabank employee and proud to be married to a veteran. Debi and Rudy wintered for many years in Cypress Woods, Florida and idled the hours away playing mahjong and pickleball with her fellow snowbirds.
With Rudy’s military career they lived all over Canada and her volunteer spirit was appreciated by every community she lived in. Active in Rotary and the Catholics Women’s League, Debi loved helping those in need. Their love of travel didn’t stop when Rudy retired. They travelled the world exploring with family and friends.
Debi would want everyone to celebrate her life, not mourn her death.... so please, raise a glass (of diet coke and Southern Comfort) and share your favourite memories of Debi.
In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation to be made in her memory to a charity of your choice. Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Homes were in care of the arrangements.

Mr. David John Kakuk of Drumheller passed away on October 27, 2020 in Hanna, Alberta at the age of 53 years.
Dave was born in Banff, Alberta on December 7, 1966 to Don & Georgina Kakuk. Dave grew up in the Drumheller Valley taking all his schooling there. After he completed high school, he attended S.A.I.T. taking Forestry. Dave worked for the Town of Drumheller as Chief of Facilities for many years, he retired due to failing health.
Dave loved the outdoors, the mountains, camping, looking at the architecture of buildings, spending time with his sons just hanging out.
Dave leaves to cherish his memory his two sons Josh (Jenn), Ben, his parents Georgina, Don, sister Lorri (Gary), brother Darcy, his uncle Brian (Tracy) and their family, aunt Fay and her family, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a lifetime of friends. He will be sadly missed.
There will be no formal funeral services for Dave, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Homes were in care of the arrangements.
