SENIOR
Patrick Allan

September 11, 1952 - June 12, 2024

On June 12, 2024, Patrick Allan Senior, a beloved husband, father, poppa, and uncle sadly passed away.
Patrick was born in Drumheller, AB on September 11, 1952 to Mildred and Jack Senior, and was the youngest of 3 children. Patrick’s fondest memories were living in Newcastle with his mom, dad, and 2 brothers Jack and Donald. As a child you would often find him playing at what he called Sherwood Forest near Newcastle Beach or playing in the river. When he wasn’t playing he would be tricking or teasing his brothers.
Patrick lived most of his life in Drumheller and for a short time he lived in Thompson, Manitoba. He moved back to Drumheller and graduated high school. Patrick then went on to post secondary at SAIT for 4th Class Engineer. He received many different kinds of tickets throughout his life, and had numerous different jobs. He was most proud of the 29 years he put in with the Correctional Services of Canada.
People who knew Patrick would say he would give you the shirt off his back, easily get a crowd laughing and would get a twinkle in his eye talking about his girls. Even if you did not know Pat well, you would receive a warm hello and be drawn in with his hearty laugh. Patrick loved to sing, hum and whistle his favorite old-time tunes. Some of his interests were fishing, trucks, and he loved working with his hands. The garage was his man cave with every tool you can imagine. He would spend most of his time tinkering away on some project, visiting with neighbors and friends enjoying a cold one. Patrick’s greatest attribute was the love and care he had for his family. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
“A light has gone out of our lives, but the love he gave will go on forever.”
He was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Mildred Senior; his brothers, Jack and Donald Senior.
Patrick is loved and survived by his wife Janet Senior of 49 years. His children Patricia Senior (Dan Glenn), Joanne (Evan Machacek), and his two granddaughters, the apple of his eye, his pride and joy, Katie and Isla. One sister-in-law Frances Senior along with numerous nieces and nephews whom he cared about very much, and Janet’s family.
The family wishes to extend a thank-you to all the nurses and doctors who helped Patrick during his time in the Drumheller Hospital. A special thank-you to Pat’s family physician Dr. Olfert and his assistant Barb.
If you wish to make a donation, please consider the Royal Canadian Legion Drumheller Branch #22 or charity of your choice.
There will be a Celebration of Life event that will be announced at a later date.
