Doris Ada Carter, beloved wife of the late George Carter, passed away at the Evanston Grand Village in Calgary on July 5, 2021 at the age of 101 years. She will be remembered with love by her children: Dwight (Jacky) Carter of Calgary and Rod (Tanis) Carter of Surrey, BC; her five grandchildren: Skye (Chris), Sabrina (Raj), Daniel, Bradley, and Matthew (Maxine); and her five great-grandchildren: Atleigh, Tayla, Kailas, Rowan, and Kieran. Doris will also be sadly missed by her numerous nieces and nephews, and their spouses, children, and grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents Fred and Ada Elford; her siblings: Ruth Elford, Wes Elford, Esther Elford, and David Elford; and her nephew Fred Elford. Doris was born in St. Michael’s Hospital in Lethbridge, AB. She married George Wilson Carter in June 1949 and they were blessed with two sons Dwight and Rodney. Doris obtained her B.Sc. from the University of Alberta in 1945 and a teaching degree from the University of Calgary. She worked as a dietician at Vancouver General Hospital, taught at Vermillion College, farmed with George near Michichi, AB, and taught at various schools in Calgary. Doris was very involved with the Drumheller United Church, and St. Andrew’s and St. David’s United churches in Calgary. Doris dedicated her life to helping her family, friends, acquaintances, and anyone in need. Ryan DeLeeuw, father, husband, son, uncle and brother passed peacefully on July 5th, surrounded by family.
Ryan is survived by his wife Shai, his children Raechel and Ryson, his Mother Tisa (Ralph), father Mike (Micheline), brother Wes (Amy), sisters LeDawn (Edward), Kylee (Robert), Brittney (Justin), Tiffany, Carmen, Simone, and Tate. As well as numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and countless close friends that loved him fiercely. Ryan was predeceased by his daughter Maia, Uncle Rodney, Nan, Grandpa Larry, Grandpa Potvin and all maternal and paternal great grandparents.
Ryan was a devoted father and husband. He loved working on vehicles and making improvements to his yard. He was the family mechanic and was always willing to devote his time to his loved ones. Ryan enjoyed kicking back and having beers by the fire with family and friends. He had a passion for music and had it playing no matter what he was doing. He was an amazing story teller and would jump at the opportunity to bend someone’s ear. He loved to laugh and be with his family. Most of all he loved his wife and kids and would do anything to make sure they were taken care of. Ryan was an amazing person in every sense of the word. He will be missed by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him and his memory will live on through every life he touched.
There will be a short service Tuesday, July 13th, at the Drumheller Alliance Church, 670 7th Ave East at 10 a.m. with a luncheon to follow at 301 3rd Street, Nacmine at 2 p.m.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mom, Grandmother, Great grandmother and friend Sylvia Cannings. She passed away peacefully at the Kelowna General Hospital June 23, 2021.
Sylvia was predeceased by her loving husband Ray of 55 years in November 2019. She is survived by her children Leighann (Sean) and Rennie (Jaclyn) her grandchildren Reanna (Cesar) Katelynn (Justin) Brayden, Mitchell, Darian (Carson) Kori, Drisden. Her great-grandchildren Noah, Sofia and Kyra. Sylvia had numerous nieces and nephews that will remember her with love and laughter.

Those we love don’t go away;
they walk beside us every day. 
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
still loved, 
still missed and very dear.

The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers during this time. A special thank you to the doctors and nurses at the Kelowna General Hospital ICU A Unit for the care and support given during Mom’s time in the hospital. A Celebration of Sylvia’s Life will be held at the Carbon Community Center July 14, 2021 from 3:00 pm-5:00 pm.
