Robert Allen
(Bob)

September 3, 1931 - June 17, 2022

Peacefully on June 17, 2022 with his wife, Lynn by his side, Bob passed away in the Hamiota District Health Centre, Hamiota, MB. He was born September 3, 1931 in Midlandvale, AB (Drumheller), the sixth son of Otto and Elsie Naegeli. He was one of 10 children!
Bob leaves behind his wife, Lynn and faithful dog, Mandy. Lynn’s brothers Art (Joyce) Morrow and Cal (Lois) Morrow; four children from a previous marriage: Johann (Michel Henri), Pierre (Debbie), Diane, and Stephanie. Two sisters, Elsie Pickering and Rita Bouvier as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and brothers Gordon, Jim, Frank, Don, Ben, Victor, and George; as well as several nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Bob spent his early years working in the Midland Coal Mine before joining the Air Force in 1951. He spent 25 years as an automotive mechanic, retiring in 1975. That same year he married Lynn and they resided in Oakville, MB, then Arden, MB, and finally Hamiota, MB.
Never one to sit around he spent time fishing, hunting, golfing, camping, curling and visiting family and friends in Drumheller. He made friends easily and would often learn a complete strangers life story over coffee.
Cremation has taken place and his ashes will be returned to his beloved Drumheller. For those so desiring, donations may be made in Bob’s memory to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, 452 Dovercourt Dr, Winnipeg, MB, R3Y 1G4 (www.kidney.ca) or to the Hamiota District Health Centre Palliative Care Program, c/o Hamiota District Health Centre, Hamiota, MB, R0M 0T0.

NIELSEN
Johanna

March 6, 1946 - June 25, 2022

Johanna Nielsen, 76, passed away in Red Deer on Saturday, June 25th. Nana was a beloved wife, mom, grandmother, sister and friend to many. We will miss her immensely, but find comfort in knowing she is now with her Lord in heaven.
Born on March 6, 1946 in Enschede, Netherlands to Johannes and Antonia Fikkert, Nana, the oldest of 7 children immigrated with her family to Canada in 1950. She grew up in Sylvan Lake and Red Deer where she met her husband of 57 years, Larry Nielsen. Not long after being married, Larry and JoAnn moved to Morrin where they spent 55 years being part of the community and raising their four sons (Jamie, John, Steve and Dan).
The “snowbird” life began in 1994 when Larry and JoAnn started spending their winters in Needles, CA developing a mobile home park with Mel (Larry’s brother) and wife, Fran. In 2008, they sold the mobile home park and bought a home in Phoenix where they have been returning each year to enjoy the winters with new found friends and hosting family visitors.
Nana’s funeral will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 30th at the Community Hall in Morrin, Alberta. To view the funeral online please visit Nana Nielsen’s Facebook.
