Condolences to the family of Brenda Louise Ford

FORD
Brenda Louise

June 2, 1957 - July 10, 2023

Brenda Ford passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on July 10, 2023. She leaves behind her long-time partner, Richie; her daughters, Colette (Andrew) and Mickie (Lydell), her grandchildren: Tommy, Johnny, Kenzie, and Zac; her brothers, Brad (Pat) and Brett (Karina), and her beloved friends, Sheila and Norm.
A wild soul from the beginning, Brenda was born to Bill and Irma Ford on June 2, 1957, in Drumheller, Ab. She roamed the hills causing trouble throughout her childhood. Ever the adventurer, she hitchhiked to Mexico with her friends at the tender age of 15. She explored BC, living in Vancouver, Kelowna, and eventually Fort St. John where she met Norm Scobie. With him, Brenda moved back to Alberta in 1981 and started a family. She lived in Grande Prairie, Peace River, Yellowknife, Grimshaw, and Grande Prairie again, eventually finding herself back in the Drumheller Valley in 1995. In 2008 she started a new relationship with Richie Grose, and they lived happily together in Midland until her passing.
Brenda had undeniable people skills and loved working as a cocktail waitress and bar manager. She also spent many years working as a legal secretary and an emergency room intake admin. She spent her later years working at Auto Value and cleaning houses in Drumheller. Brenda was an avid gardener and left many in awe of her green thumb. She took great pride in the flowers she tended, and in the spring she loved to watch the baby birds jump around in the grass near the flowerbeds.
Brenda was intensely loved by those who knew her and will be missed terribly. She is pre-deceased by her mother, Irma, and her father, Bill. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you honor Brenda’s generous spirit by paying it forward. Help someone in need, whether it’s by weeding their garden, cleaning their house, helping them move furniture, or shoveling their sidewalk in the winter.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Midland Hall on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. Please reach
out to Colette, Mickie, or Richie for details.
