SCHAFER, Orlean Myrtle
May 7, 1921 - April 22, 2011
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of their mother and grandmother at the age of 89 years. Orlean is survived by daughters; Margaret (Ted), Edith (John), along with sons Jim (Linda), and Dale (Teresa) as well as ten grandchildren: Laura (Doug), Bradley, Jennifer, Leanne (Tom), Erin, Chris (Erin), Tamara, Orlando (Tennille), Tessa, Becky, and seven great grandchildren: Zachary, Parker, Nicholas, Bremner, Coen, Darus, Eric, and Damian. Orlean was predeceased by her husband Edward and son Douglas. Orlean resided in East Coulee for many years and was a cook at the Drumheller Hospital along with being a Postmistress from 1969 - 1981. Orlean had various hobbies, making teddie bears, swimming, knitting, sewing, quilting, gardening, travelling and curling. She was also a member of the Drumheller Royal Purple. The family would like to thank the staff at the Three Hills Hospital for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Orlean. A funeral Service will be held at the Knox United Church in Drumheller, Alberta on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Jan Richardson officiating with Interment to follow in the Drumheller Municipal Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Three Hills Hospital (Palliative Care), Box 340 Three Hills, AB T0M 2A0, please make cheques payable to Three Hills & District Palliative Care.
