McKAY, Adeline Anna
August 1, 1932 - October 16, 2010


Our Mother, Sister, Grandma and Best Friend left us gently in her sleep after an amazing one year fight against cancer. Adeline was born in Hay Lakes, Alberta to Martha and Adolph Huebner, the seventh of nine children. She attended school in Hay Lakes and college at Camrose Lutheran College. On June 1st 1952, she married John Wallace (Jack) McKay and had five children: Kevin, Bradley, Kim, Scott and Shawn. Adeline and Jack came to Drumheller in 1963. Adeline was a very caring mother and friend who gave generously of herself to those close to her. She was actively involved with her Pioneer Trail Senior Centre making quilts for the homeless. Adeline was also a long standing participant at the Farmer’s Market where she sold Rawleigh products and crafts. Adeline was predeceased by her son Bradley; husband Jack; mother Martha; father Adolph; sister Helen; brother Bernard; and best friend’s; Shirley Solberg and “Uncle” Lenny Johnson. She is survived by her children: Kevin (Linda), Kim (Murray), Scott (Joyce), and Shawn (Jody), Grandchildren: Bradley (Andrea), Tyson (Kristi) ,Leah (Kevin), Max, Wallace, Samantha and Macintyre and Great grandchild Brody; sister and friend Lillian, brother Clarence, brother Robert, sister Elsa, brother Eric and brother Arnold, several nieces and nephews and best friends: Sherri, Vi and Maureen. A service celebrating and recognizing Anna’s life will be held at the Alliance Church, located at #670, 7th Avenue, E .Drumheller, AB on October 22nd at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cuts for Cancer, c/o P.O. Box 621, Drumheller, AB T0J 0Y0 in honour of Adeline McKay would be sincerely appreciated. Courtney- Winters Funeral Chapel entrusted with arrangements.
