REZNECHENKO, Maxine
1927 - 2010
Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Maxine, passed away on October 6, 2010 at the Peter Lougheed Centre. Maxine was born at Herbert, Saskatchewan on May 17, 1927 as the second youngest of five children born to Edgar and Gladys Best. She married Phil Reznechenko on June 25, 1949 (deceased March 24, 1965) in Herbert, Saskatchewan and was blessed with four daughters-who with their families were the very centre of her existence. She married John Reznechenko, her lifelong partner, who passed away March 11, 2005. Maxine had many passions. Her family, gardening, square dancing, The United Church, and many friends. Her eyes lit up when a child was in her presence especially her grandchildren and great-grandson. She remained active and very involved in her community until her move into Monterey Village in Calgary in the fall of 2007. Although she had moved out of her community-she will be missed by all whose lives she touched during her life. She is survived by her family Sheree (Jim) Gallant, and Holly Reznechenko, both of Calgary, Marliss (Roger) Fleischhacker of Middle Lake, SK and Lee Anne Reznechenko of Drumheller; her grandchildren: Curtis (Chantel) and Brad Fleischhacker and Mallory Gallant; her great-grandson Dylan (Curtis) Fleischhacker and her sister Helen (Bob) Murdock. Maxine is also lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews. She is predeceased by her siblings: Edgar (Pauline), Gordon (Doris) and Doug (Arlene) Best and in-laws. A Memorial Service was held on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 2 p.m. from the Carbon United Church with Pastor Wendy Galloway officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Maxine’s memory may be made to The Alzheimer’s Society, 10531 Kingsway Avenue, Edmonton, AB T5H 4K1 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Rm 124, Professisonal Building, 430 6 Ave S.E.
