It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Gena Luvisotto of Calgary on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at the age of 88 years. Gena is survived by two sons James Luvisotto (Woranuch) of Bangkok, Thailand, Robert Luvisotto of Calgary and grandson Harley Luvisotto of Sussex, England along with numerous wonderful cousins in Alberta and British Columbia. She was predeceased by her beloved husband John Luvisotto and her parents Teresa and Ercole. Gena was born in Drumheller and often expressed fond memories of her years growing up in small town Alberta. Gena moved to Calgary in her twenties but always maintained close links to her friends in Drumheller. Gena enjoyed life, especially around her family and friends. She was not afraid to express her feelings and her sense of humour was with her all the time even during the last difficult months. She was sustained for all these years by her strong and unwavering Catholic faith (as well as her sense of humour). We will miss her. Relatives and friends were invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Monday, October 4, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass was celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (1307 - 14th Street S.W.) on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
