Sam Sandulak of Drumheller peacefully passed away at the Continuing Care Unit of the Drumheller Regional Hospital on Friday, the 16th of July. Sam was born in Drumheller and lived his entire life in the valley.  Prior to living in Continuing Care, Sam lived at the Sunshine Lodge for 2 years.  He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Sandulak, and their children, Ann Wade and husband Doug Wade , Glenda Kendrick and husband Allan Kendrick, and Irv Sandulak and wife Kathy Sandulak. Sam leaves to mourn him, his grandchildren, Justine and Margo Kendrick, Ryan, Kali and Paula Wade,  Josh Sandulak and his honorary daughter, Shelly Blanchett. Sam was a carpenter for 50 years in the valley and enjoyed his work with numerous residents, many of whom he became good friends with. Sam was an avid gardener and renowned for making family breakfasts with his unforgettable “hotcakes” . Sam took great delight and pride in his grandchildren. A memorial Service will be conducted in the Newcastle Hall at 2:00 pm on Monday, July 26th with a tea to follow. The family wishes to sincerely thank the staff of the Sunshine Lodge and the Continuing Care Unit for their kindness, compassion and care during Sam’s residence.{jathumbnail off}
