HARVEY, George “Elwood”August 11, 1934 - July 3, 2010

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elwood Harvey of Pike Lake, SK on Saturday, July 3rd, 2010 at St. Paul’s Hospital Palliative Care Unit. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marian (nee Anton); his son James (Helen) and their children Matthew and Tyler of Pike Lake, SK; son Doug (Valerie) and their children Cory, Sheldon (Robyn), Mitchell, and Morgan of Drumheller, AB; daughter Sherrill Bueckert (Frank Vandenameele) and her children Kristen (Shane), Lindsay, and Clinton of Pike Lake, SK; sisters Victoria Pippin-Armstrong, Ethel (Robert) Talbot, Betty Blair, June Kraus, Earla (Don) Lardner, and Vesta Ferguson. He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Mary Harvey; brother Bud Harvey; and son-in-law Don Bueckert. Elwood was born in Saskatoon and attended Albert Public School and Saskatoon Technical Collegiate. He worked at the Royalite Refinery, Co-operative Chemicals, and Cominco Potash before taking up full time farming. He was also involved in many different organizations over the years: The Saskatoon Exhibition Board, Saskatchewan Wheat Pool, Saskatoon Credit Union, Credit Union Central of Saskatchewan, Credit Union Central of Canada, CUMIS Insurance Board, and most recently Affinity Credit Union. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 7th, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home (east on 8th Street, turn right before railway crossing), Saskatoon, SK with Reverend David Tyler officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made in memory of Elwood to the Palliative Care Unit at St. Paul’s Hospital or to the St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation (1702-20th Street West, Saskatoon, SK S7M 0Z9). Arrangements are entrusted to David Diakuw, HILLCREST FUNERAL HOME 306-477-4400.
