Gerogina Thompson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Georgina Grace Thompson on September 16, 2024, at the Drumheller Health Centre.
Georgina was born on October 30, 1943, in Chilliwack, BC to John and Agnes Ewing, she was one of four children. From Chilliwack, the Ewing family moved to Rosedale first then settled in Drumheller.
Georgina met and married the love of her life Frank Thompson on June 29, 1963. To this union two children were born, Lorne in 1964 and Laura in 1967. The family resided in Rosedale. Georgina loved to cook, bake, do handiwork such as knitting, crocheting, and sewing. Georgina was the host of hosts. Once her own children were raised, she was very proud to be blessed with five grandchildren, whom she supported wholeheartedly, watching dance, court sports and many hockey games. She was their biggest fan. She was so excited when the grandchildren started getting married and giving her great-grandchildren, she loved to spend time with them and relish in the younger years. Georgina always kept busy, she was a bus driver, caregiver for D.A.R.T.S., day home provider, board member for District 9, and member of the Legion Auxiliary. Georgina and Frank established Thompson’s Campground in Rosedale in the 80’s, now known as 11 Bridges Campground. She loved to garden, growing the most beautiful flowers. Georgina loved her husband, her children, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren, she will be forever missed and loved.
