Victoria Leonhardt (Bogner) age 88, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 5, 2024, at Villa Marie Nursing Home in Red Deer, Alberta. She was born on July 13, 1935, in Green Lake, Saskatchewan.
She married John Bogner on November 3, 1955, and moved to the farming community of Ladder Valley where they raised six children. After 1974, Victoria left the Big River area living in Allan, Hudson Bay, Weirdale and Prince Albert. She always had a passion for cooking, mostly in restaurants, then in the eighties she decided to take on a new job, camp cook for a road construction company from Regina. This venture took her all over Saskatchewan doing what she loved and cooking for her road crew who were like family to her. During this part of her life she met Bill Head, they married in 1992 and moved to Delburne, Alberta when Bill retired. Shortly thereafter, Bill passed away.
Victoria was always active, loved to garden, golf, going for long walks and dancing. She met Ken Leonhardt at a social event and soon after moved to Drumheller where Ken farmed. She really liked the farm life, growing a garden, cooking meals to take out to the field and helping in whatever way she could.
Victoria is remembered by her husband Ken Leonhardt of Drumheller, her three daughters Valerie Bogner-McCallum (Dale), Rosemary Bogner (Gerald), and Lynn Lomsnes and son Vernon Bogner (Hanneke), daughters in-law Shannon and Wanda Bogner. Seventeen grandchildren – Jessi & Chelsey; Kevin, Robert & Leah; Shaye & Alan; Pam & Dallas; Jonathon, Stephanie, Richard & Adam; Shelby, Matthew, Zach & Lucas as well as twenty-seven great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and sister Blanche Burlaka (Steve) plus several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Narcisse and Rose Mirasty, her sons Terry and Ted Bogner, siblings Allan, Frank, Ronald, Florence, Wilfred, Peter, Georgina, daughter-in-law Cindy Bogner.
Funeral Service Monday, July 22, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Big River Catholic Church.
