HARTY
John (Ben)

November 21, 1931 - October 2, 2021

It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of John(Ben) Harty on October 2nd, 2021.
He was predeceased by his wife Margaret, his brother Frank and sister Rose, as well as his beloved granddaughter Chelsea.
For his sons and all the daughters, Dad will be always in our memories, Tim; Terry (Toni); Jordan; Jocelyn (Dean); Mitch (Jen). His grandchildren, Brock; Dylan; Danielle; John; Samantha; Keith; and Janessa. Grandpa will be held in their hearts. Remembered by his brothers, Matt (Dorothy); and Lawrence, his sister Barb; and sister-in-law Joyce, along with many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends who have the memories to go with the many stories they have about Ben.
Ben lived a full life on the family farm in Rumsey, AB. He enjoyed grain, pig and cattle farming, working on the Oil Rigs for many years, camping and fishing with his family and friends. Ben had a wonderful ability to pick up music and played in many jam sessions that each of the kids remember well. He loved to dance and talk about things, past and present, to anyone who would listen.
Ben and Margaret retired and moved into Red Deer, they spent their time with family, church, Senior Mystery tours and cruises.
The family is very grateful to the staff of Michener Center for the care he received while he was there.
A graveside service will be held at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Red Deer, Alberta, on October 15th, 2021 at 12:00 pm.
