MANLEY
William (Bill) Vernon

March 7, 1931 - October 6, 2020

It is with sadness and love that we share the loss of Bill Manley, who passed away peacefully at the Rocky Ridge Retirement Community (Dalhousie/Dementia Unit) in Calgary, Alberta on October 6, 2020 at the age of 89.
Bill was born in Codette, Saskatchewan on March 7, 1931 to William and Elizabeth Manley. He is predeceased by his sister, Lorraine, and brothers Ken and George.
In his early years, Bill enjoyed being outdoors and working on cars, both of which became lifelong passions.
In 1956, he married Lois Elaine Patterson in Milden, SK. Lois and Bill had three children all born in Prince Albert, SK: Jeff, Jim and Lora.
Bill worked for Correctional Service Canada in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and Drumheller, Alberta before completing his work career with Alberta Gas Trunkline/Nova.
Following the passing of his wife, Lois, in 1991, Bill continued to work on restoring antique cars in his retirement. He made a cross-Canada trip in 2000 in his 1942 Chev.
Bill will be dearly remembered and loved by his children, Jeff (Maureen) of Alexandria, ON, Jim (Heidi) of Airdrie, AB, and Lora (Dustin) of Calgary, AB.
Proud and cherished Grandpa to Shannon, William and James; Tyler and Tasha; and Eric and Ian. He will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews from both the Manley and Patterson sides.
Our family would like to thank the staff at Hillview Lodge and Helping Hands in Drumheller and most recently the Rocky Ridge Retirement Community in Calgary and the wonderful and caring staff in the Dalhousie Unit.
Donations in Bill’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
A private celebration of Bill’s life will be held at a later date.
