John Charles

February 18, 1984 - October 31, 2018

John Charles Morgan, passed away peacefully at 9:25 PM on October 31, 2018, at the age of 34 surrounded by family and friends. Born on February 18, 1984 in Drumheller, John held residence throughout his life in Rosedale, Drumheller, Munson, and attended school in both Morrin and Drumheller. John had deep roots in all of these communities. John was a hard-working business owner for several years, and a man with many talents, hobbies, and he had a brilliant mind for inventions. In his youth, he loved sea cadets and sailing, and was a very bright and curious boy. Known by all as an ever helpful friend and caring family member, he offered incredible support to anyone in need without hesitation. John adored his family, notably the children, as well as his beloved dogs, Pork and Beans. He had a reputation as “the best gift giver” as he always knew the perfect present for the occasion. John is survived by his loving mother Sandra Jones (John Russell) of Drumheller, his brother and best friend Justin Morgan of Drumheller, his dear nephews Jack Morgan and Carson Montgomery of Drumheller, his step-brother John Russell Jr. of Edmonton, grandparents Ray and Darlene Raketti of Drumheller, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He is predeceased by influential family members – his father, Jackie Morgan, and his great grandmother, Marion Zern. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, or to Diabetes Canada. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the caring staff at Special Services Building, Unit 37 at the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, Alberta, and to the staff at the Drumheller Health Center. Also, special thanks to the Alliance Church prayer group for their support and prayers which provided much comfort to both John and his family. A public service will be held at the Munson community Hall at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 7, 2018. A luncheon will follow at the hall. Courtney-Winters Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
