WOLF
Sarah (Sally) Steel

December 26, 1923 - June 6, 2018

How do you put 94 years into words?

On June 6, 2018 Sally Wolf took her final breath. Sarah (Sally) Steel Wolf was born in County Durham England on December 26, 1923. At the age of 5 she travelled with her parents, George Harold Steel and Lizzie Hannah Steel, sisters Annie and Isabel to Canada. Within a short time in Canada they settled in the Drumheller Valley, a valley she loved all her life. Even in later years when her eyesight was poor she still loved to look out at the hills. In 1940 she met the love of her life, Waldemar Wolf. They dated for a short time and were married on May 1, 1943 in Medicine Hat as that is where Waldemar was stationed in the Royal Canadian Air Force. In 1945 they started farming in the Michichi area, moved to Verdant Valley to the Wolf farm at the top of the Clark Hill. Tim was born in 1947 and Jennifer in 1952. In 1958 they had the opportunity to purchase a farm in the Munson area and jumped at the chance. In 1962, Becky was born and their family although spread out was completed. Sally enjoyed farming and did everything that was expected of her and more. They had a large circle of friends who meant a great deal to Sally. She enjoyed curling and especially golfing. She had the skill of straight shots and dead eye putts. Waldemar convinced her to make her first trip to Hawaii in 1981. Continuing from there, three months a year were spent in Hawaii until 2010, she loved sharing her Diamond Head View with all who came to visit. In 1991, they completed their new home in Midland and moved to the beautiful spot along the river. After Waldemar passed in 2011, Sally spent time in Sunshine Lodge, Hillview Lodge and then Coalbanks Extended Care. The family would like to thank Dr. Liknes, as well as the nurses for their outstanding care. You made mom’s final days so much better. Thank you to all the Drumheller Health Care staff for the special care and kindness over the years. The ladies from Helping Hands were a great support to Sally during the last years. She loved visiting and spending time with them either at “exercise class” or reading. Sally leaves behind son Tim (Rory) Wolf, daughter Jennifer Wolf, daughter Becky (Bill) Kowalchuk. Grandchildren: Kelly (Shelly) Wolf, Avy (Corey) Wolf, Cameron (Colleen) Robb, Pam Robb, Brent (Jody) Robb, Michelle (Shawn) Jacobs, Dean Davison, Lindsey (Travis) Nemeth, Travis Kowalchuk, Jared Kowalchuk. Great Grandchildren: Lukas & Kade Wolf-Bernard, Zane Wolf, Dustin Robb, Zayden, Ryder, Navara, Raven & Violet Robb, Wyatt & Mason Robb, Sawyer & Beckett Jacobs, Archer & Beau Nemeth.
